A random inspection was held at the polling stations in Tirupur North, Tirupur South and Avinashi constituencies, and a Taluk office on Wednesday by Collector C. Samayamoorthy as part of a review of poll preparations.

He reviewed whether the stations were having ramps for the physically challenged electors to exercise their right to franchise comfortably, and also the security measures at sensitive polling booths of the constituencies.

Official sources said Avinashi constituency had 70 sensitive polling booths, Tirupur North had 76, and Tirupur South had 53 sensitive stations.

The Collector would be carrying out inspection of the infrastructure at the polling stations falling under Kangeyam and Dharapuram constituencies on Thursday, sources added.
