Chandikeswara Nayanar Narpani Sangam on Sunday staged a protest in the city seeking action against a social networking site user, who hurt the sentiments of Hindus by posting a picture of he standing atop a Sivalingam.
The organisation said that the post was per se sacrilegious and put the Hindus to untold hardships. They were deeply pained by the picture.
Soon after the post appeared on the web, the members lodged a complaint with the Chief Minister, District Collector, City Police Commissioner and the head of the cyber police wing. The police removed the members.
