The Board of Advisers for the preparation of a 10-volume Hindi encyclopaedia met in New Delhi on February 24 under the chairmanship of Pandit Govind Ballabh Pant, Union Home Minister, to finalise its form and content. The encyclopaedia which is expected to contain 30,000 topical entries is expected to be completed in another five years. It will touch upon Indian topics in detail. The Board felt that the number of volumes of the encyclopaedia might have to be increased. The project was started a year ago under the guidance of the Nagari Pracharani Sabha with a grant of six and a half lakhs of rupees from the Ministry of Education.
