WELLINGTON: Fiji’s interim Prime Minister Commodore Frank Bainimarama has said Fiji is always ready to discuss its situation with the international community, the Fiji Sun newspaper reported.

“We have always been prepared and this time I am ready to address the United Nations General Assembly on the current progress the country is making,” the Fiji Sun newspaper quoted him as saying. “I would not be here if I am not ready,” he said.

He was at the United Nations after declaring Fiji’s position on national elections to a Commonwealth delegation that visited Fiji two weeks ago. — Xinhua
