KATHMANDU: A day after Madhesi Janadhikar Forum’s parliamentary leader Bijay Kumar Gachhedar was sworn in as Deputy Prime Minister, party Chairman Upendra Yadav announced withdrawal of support to the coalition government led by CPN (UML).

Mr. Yadav also announced the party’s decision to expel Mr. Gachhedar and six other leaders of the party for going against party policies.

Mr. Yadav, who blamed the Nepali Congress and CPN (UML) for instigating the division in the party, also called for a Madhes bandh on June 8.

Meanwhile, Mr. Gachhadar, who is also the parliamentary leader of the party, said support would not be withdrawn. The MJF has 53 representatives in the Constituent Assembly, out of which 28 support Mr. Yadav.
