DHAKA: Bangladesh Prime Minister Khaleda Zia has said India should import more from the country to reduce the widening trade imbalance. She conveyed this to outgoing Indian High Commissioner Veena Sikri. The Indian envoy thanked the Prime Minister for the successful holding of the SAARC summit in Dhaka and for the cooperation the government extended to her in discharging her duties.

Begum Khaleda appreciated the Indian envoy for her efforts in improving bilateral relations.

Later calling on Foreign Minister Morshed Khan, Ms. Sikri said she would miss Bangladesh, a country that had a special place in her heart for the warm hospitality she enjoyed here.

A Foreign Ministry release said Mr. Khan appreciated the positive approach shown by the High Commissioner during her tenure.
