GAZA: At least six Palestinians were killed and more than a dozen wounded by Israeli artillery fire in northern Gaza on Friday afternoon, witnesses and medical sources said.
The incident took place when Israeli gunboats fired artillery shells at targets in northern Gaza Strip, said the sources, adding that the shells landed near the Mediterranean coast in northern Gaza.
Israeli army is believed to target the places used by Palestinian militants to fire rockets into southern Israel.
Earlier on Friday, three Palestinians were killed in an Israeli air strike against a militant group in northern Gaza, Palestinian security and medical sources said.
According to the sources, the three killed were identified as members of the Popular Resistance committees (PRC), which frequently fires homemade rockets into Israel. Xinhua
