China’s top economic planner has allocated 100 million yuan (around $16 million) for infrastructure reconstruction in quake-hit Gansu province.

The fund will be used for rebuilding transport, water conservancy and other public facilities, the China Daily reported on Sunday. A 6.6-magnitude quake jolted the border areas of Minxian and Zhangxian counties on Monday, killing at least 95 people and injuring more than 1,400. Heavy rain has been falling in the quake zone since last week, hampering relief. — IANS
