Beirut car bomb kills 8

A car bomb ripped through eastern Beirut on Friday, killing at least eight people. It is the most serious blast in the Lebanese capitalin more than four years. While the motive was not immediately known, manyquickly connected it to the civil war in Syria. — AFP
