: Socialist Michelle Bachelet took the oath of office as President of Chile on Tuesday, returning to power after four years with a reform agenda to reduce social disparities in this prosperous South American country. The 62-year-old was sworn in at a ceremony in the Congress, which has its seat in the port of Valparaiso, 120 km west of Santiago.
