KATHMANDU: Nepal’s President Ram Baran Yadav has issued a second call to form a national government. And this time, he has directed the Constituent Assembly (CA) to initiate the necessary measures.
As the largest party in the CA, the Communist Party of Nepal (Maoist), could not form a government within the given deadline, Mr. Yadav on Sunday sent a letter to CA chairman Subhash Nembang, directing the CA to begin consultations.
Mr. Nembang said the procedure to elect the Prime Minister would begin soon. According to the interim Constitution, any party that has a simple majority in the CA can form the national government.
