Thimphu: Call it enthusiasm or sheer love for the country, a 65-year-old Bhutanese woman has trekked 600 km with a walking stick and rubber slippers to cast her vote.

Tshewang Dema took 14 days to reach the eastern district Trashiyangste from here as she passed through six districts and daring cold and rough terrain. “I have a disliking for travel by cars,” she said. “And since I didn’t want to lose my vote I walked.” — PTI
