Information Minister Ponnala Lakshmaiah on Thursday assured that the government would extend all necessary assistance to animation companies, especially those that were garnering international fame for their work.
He was interacting with a group of techies at the Hyderabad facility of Rhythm & Hues (R & H), whose work on the Ang Lee blockbuster ‘Life of Pi’ won an Oscar recently.

He was shown the company’s show reel and the making of ‘Life of Pi’, after which he went around the VFX (visual effects) studio and spent a while talking to the VFX artists.
Managing Director-India of R&H, Saraswathi Balagam made a presentation showcasing the company’s work, including its contribution to ‘The Golden Compass’ that got it an Oscar in 2008.
“Our endeavour is to keep raising the bar and as has been proved with the award for our work in ‘Life of Pi’, we can surely churn out Academy Award-winning when given the right environment,” she stated enthusiastically.
