Well-known Assamese director Jahnu Barua, whose Bondhon won the best film award in the “Chitra Bharati” category, dedicated the award to the “love and affection shown by the people of Karnataka” during the exodus of northeast Indians a few months ago from Bangalore, which brought them back the city after the initial panic.

“I am touched by the way the government and people of Karnataka handled the situation,” he said.
