Temperatures dip across North India

The winter chill crept in as temperatures dipped across North India with cold winds blowing across the plains.

The capital Delhi recorded a maximum of 23.8 degrees celsius and a minimum 7.7 degrees celsius.

Today’s minimum was one degree below normal and down from the previous day’s 11.5 degree celsius.

Light rains and breeze brought back the winter chill to the national capital yesterday with day temperature falling by nine degrees celsius.

The Met office has predicted moderate to heavy snowfall in Kashmir Valley over hilly areas for one week beginning on Wednesday , which is likely to intensify on December 13 and 14.

The Divisional Administration in Kashmir put the disaster management grid on stand by to meet any eventuality due to snowfall expected in the next 24 hours across the Valley.

Cold conditions prevailed in Punjab and Haryana as minimum temperatures fell by a few notches following snowfall in the neighbouring hill state of Himachal Pradesh. Cold winds blew at many places.PTI
