The annual Sports Day at Sentia, the Global School here, recently was a success and an event that surpassed all expectations.

It kicked off with a welcome speech and an impressive guard of honour led by the Head Boy and Head Girl accompanied by the House Captains, in a salute to the guest of honour Jayanth Reddy and chief guest T.R.K. Rao, Vice-President, Sports Authority of Andhra Pradesh and the lighting of a majestic torch.

Low fitness level

Mr. Rao expressed that fitness levels among children in the State were not on the expected levels and underscored the need for schools to take adequate care and accord priority to sports, on par with education. He expressed his appreciation for the facilities provided for students in Sentia.

The school’s chairman Deepak and principal A. Sunita addressed the gathering, reading out a report of the schools academic achievements.

The students had the honour to receive sports awards from Mr. Jayanth Reddy, a five times Guinness Book Record holder who spoke about his experiences in Taekwoando.

Array of programmes

The guests were treated to an array of programmes beautifully choreographed.

There were many fitness-oriented acts by the students which included mass drill, yoga, human pyramid formations, aerobics and dance performances paying tribute to the sportsmen of the country which brought in a patriotic atmosphere to the event.

Grand finale

The grand finale performed by the entire school students was indeed a ‘finale’ performance that had never been witnessed before, and was highly appreciated by the gathering.

The evening ended with a call to remain fit always keeping in mind the Fitness Mantra 2013 of Sentia the Global School.

Exhibition held

Students of the kindergarten section of Madina Public School- Himayathnagar, Hyderabad organised an exhibition in the school on the occasion of Republic Day celebrations.

Informative models

The tiny tots exhibited their scientific skills through their breath-taking and informative models on wild life, universe, computers, birds, flowers, fruits and vegetables etc, which were highly appreciated by the guests and parents who graced the Republic Day celebrations in the school on January 26, 2013.
