Awareness programme on food wastage at V.S.P.K., Rohini
V.S.P.K. International, Rohini organised a special assembly to raise awareness about food wastage caused by senseless indulgence and extravagance by society. It had speeches, songs and drama, which were intended to sensitise everyone about the need to be responsible and reasonable in the use of resources, and be judicious so that excessive and abusive use of money does not escalate food shortage.
School principal Dr. Dolly Jaitly applauded the students’ performance while giving them valuable advice about ‘Saving Food to Save Life’. The event concluded with a pledge taken by everyone to act like responsible members of society.
Teachers’ award to T.P. Singh of R.P.V.V.
The R.P.V.V. Sector -10, Dwarka principal T.P. Singh was awarded the “National Award to Teachers’’ by President Pranab Mukherjee in the presence of Union Minister for Human Resource Development Minister Pallam Raju, and Minister of State Minister Jitin Prasada and Shashi Tharoor.
D.P.S. Gwalior ranked among the best
‘Education World’ (Human Resource Development Magazine) in association with C–Fore research and survey agency in its survey of leading schools of the country has ranked Delhi Public School, A.B. Road, Rairu, Gwalior as the first in Gwalior city, second in the State of Madhya Pradesh and 62nd in the country.
The ranking has been given after rigorous checks on 14 parameters such as teacher welfare and development, competence of faculty, academic reputation, co-curricular education, sports education, etc.
The Indian School’s eco-club awarded
On the World Environment Day 2013, The Indian School’s eco-club was awarded the “Eco-Friendly School of the Year Award” by The Indian Institute of Ecology and Environment. The event was attended by Vice-Chancellors of reputed universities, bureaucrats and environmentalists along with principals, teachers and students of other schools.
Teachers’ award to Jyoti Gupta of D.P.S.
The “National Award to Teachers” was awarded to Ms. Jyoti Gupta, principal of Delhi Public School Ghaziabad, by President Pranab Mukherjee. This prestigious award was presented to 18 teachers from CBSE-affiliated schools across the country in a glittering ceremony at Vigyan Bhawan recently.
The award carried a certificate of merit, a cash award of Rs.25,000 and a silver medal.
Science exhibition at The Indian School
The Central Board of Secondary Education regional-level science exhibition was organised by The Indian School recently. The exhibition had 86 schools from Delhi and NCR exhibiting 134 projects. Under the theme “Science and Society” the exhibits by the different schools were eye-openers on their diverse sub-themes like natural resources and their conservation; transport and communication; industry; mathematical modelling; information and educational technology.
