In late action at Rome’s Stadio Olimpico, Roma and Inter Milan drew 1-1 with an opening spot kick from the hosts’ captain Francesco Totti being levelled by half-time by Rodrigo Palacio.

Inter are fourth and Roma sit seventh behind Fiorentina and Milan.

Earlier on Sunday, Napoli rallied to a 1-1 draw at Fiorentina as Serie A top scorer Edinson Cavani netted his 100th goal in the top flight.

A blunder from goalkeeper Morgan De Sanctis put Fiorentina ahead on 33 minutes. De Sanctis clashed with two of his defenders and let a long pass from Facundo Roncaglia fly past him into the net under the eyes of the lurking Luca Toni.

Also on Sunday, Milan beat Bologna 2-1 thanks to a second-half brace from Giampaolo Pazzini to occupy sixth place, two points behind the first available Europa League berth.DPA
