Employing langurs for any commercial or personal use is illegal. Though few in Delhi are aware of this clause, animal rights activist Maneka Gandhi says the citizens should join in to protect these animals.

“In case you see a langur being used/employed for commercial use, understand that it is illegal and that it is your responsibility to inform the police immediately. The langur will be handed over to the State Wildlife Department and the handler or owner will be punished,” says Ms. Gandhi, adding that the common man needs to be vigilant about this abuse to help these animals.
