What is Qwikipedia?

Ever been on Wikipedia to look up an article? More often than not, we start with one topic, click on a few links and within no time are reading about something else. Qwikipedia is a game that tries to quench this curiosity in us.

The objective is to get to a particular wiki page, starting from a specific article, using minimal clicks. There is no single correct answer, so we might surprise ourselves by finding new routes each time!

Albatross —>Time Person of the Year

Albatrosses are seabirds found in large numbers in the Southern and North Pacific Oceans. They are large flying birds, characterised by their long, tubular beaks and wide wingspan. Albatrosses are also said to have inhabited the North Atlantic Ocean, where they are no longer found today. Fossil remains of an entire colony of short-tailed albatrosses were unearthed in the island of Bermuda in the North Atlantic Ocean.

Bermuda or the Islands of Bermuda are a group of islands lying in the North Atlantic Ocean. Bermuda is an overseas British territory and is represented by Britain in foreign affairs. Owing its proximity to the US, Bermuda has also been the site of meeting of the heads of Britain and US. However, meetings between the head of the US and Bermuda have been very rare. The last such meeting took place in 2008, nearly 12 years after President Bill Clinton met Bermuda’s Premier David Saul in the White House.

Bill Clinton

William Jefferson Clinton, a.k.a. Bill Clinton was the 42nd President of the U.S. and also its third youngest President when he took oath in 1993. A democrat, Clinton served two successive terms in office from 1993-2001. He was twice featured as the Person of the year in Time magazine in 1992 and 1998.

Time Person of the Year

The Time Person of the Year is an annual issue brought out by the time magazine that profiles a person, a group or an idea that has influenced important events in a given year. Several people have been featured as the Person of the Year since its conception in 1927, including Albert Einstein, Adolf Hitler, Joseph Stalin and Mahatma Gandhi. In 2011, the protestor was chosen to grace the cover after that year witnessed several popular protests from the public in the form of Arab Spring and Occupy Wall Street.
