What is Qwikipedia?

Ever been on Wikipedia to look up an article? More often than not, we start with one topic, click on a few links and within no time are reading about something else. Qwikipedia is a game that tries to quench this curiosity in us.

The objective is to get to a particular wiki page, starting from a specific article, using minimal clicks. There is no single correct answer, so we might surprise ourselves by finding new routes each time!

Wang Jianlin—> Jawaharlal Nehru

Wang Jianlin

He has been in news recently for all wrong reasons recently.  The Chinese billionaire, Wang Jianlin was flayed for buying a painting by the Spanish artist Pablo Picasso for $28 million, which was more than the double of the estimated amount. His fellow citizens opined that he should first give back to the society instead of spending lavishly. Wang Jianlin is the Chairman of the Dailin Wanda Group. Forbes  has listed him as the 128th richest person in the world. Born in the Cangxi County, Sichuan Province in 1954, Wang Jianlin served in the People’s Liberation Army for 16 years from 1970 to 1986.

Sichuan

Located in the southwest of the People’s Republic of China, Sichuan is also referred to as Szechwan or Szechuan.  Chengdu which is the key economic city of Western China is the capital of this province. Though Han Chinese people are found in majority, Tibetans, Yi, Qiang and Naxi also reside in this province. Sichuan is believed to be most populous province in China like Uttar Pradesh in India.

Uttar Pradesh

A prominent state in northern India, Uttar Pradesh was created on April 1, 1937. It was then called as United Provinces and it was renamed later as Uttar Pradesh in 1950. The division of the state in 2000 led to the formation of a new state Uttarakhand.  Lucknow is the capital of Uttar Pradesh which shares its borders with Rajasthan, Haryana, Delhi, Uttarkhand, Nepal, Bihar, Jharkhand and Madhya Pradesh.  Uttar Pradesh was considered as a hotbed of the Indian independence movement of which Motilal Nehru, Jawaharlal Nehru, Madan Mohan Malaviya were a part.

Jawaharlal Nehru

The first Prime Minister of the country, Jawaharlal Nehru was the prominent politician who is considered as the architect of the modern India.  His family continues to hold a major role in India’s politics. A graduate from Trinity College, Cambridge and a trained barrister, Nehru took to politics in a young age. Under the able mentorship of Mahatma Gandhi, Nehru rose to become one of the important leaders of the Indian National Congress party. Nehru loved children and aptly his birthday (November 14) is celebrated as Children’s day.
