What is Qwikipedia?

Ever been on Wikipedia to look up an article? More often than not, we start with one topic, click a few links and within no time are reading about something else.

Qwikipedia is a game that tries to quench this curiosity in us. The objective is to get to a particular wiki page, starting from a specific article, using minimal clicks. There is no single correct answer, so we might surprise ourselves by finding new routes each time!

Magnus Carlsen—> Wombat

Magnus Carlsen

Magnus Carlsen is a Norwegian chessmaster who is to soon play with India's Vishy in Chennai, India. Carlsen is ranked No. 1 in the world. It is said that he could solve 50-piece jigsaw puzzles when he was just two years old! Carlsen showed an aptitude for chess from a young age. As a teenager he was known for his attacking style of playing chess but now the 22-year-old has emerged as a player with more than just one strategy. He has a variety of opening moves to challenge his opponents. This year, Time magazine has named him one of the 100 most influential people in the world.

Time 100

Every year, Time magazine brings out an honour roll of the world's 100 most influential people -- whether they have changed the world for the better or worse. It can include politicians, business heads, sportspersons, those who have excelled in the arts, scientists and heroes. Oprah Winfrey has been listed 9 times since 1999. Obama has been listed 8 times. Both Prince William and Kate Middleton have been part of the list. Actor Aamir Khan and Finance Minister P. Chidambaram are among the Indians who appeared on the list in 2013.

Prince William

Two years ago, in April 2011, Prince William and his bride Kate Middleton were all over the papers and television as they got married that month.

William, who serves as the Duke of Cambridge, is 30 years old and has served in the Royal Air Force. He is the elder son of Charles, Prince of Wales and Diana, Princess of Wales. He is second in the line of succession to the throne of Prince Charles. Prince William was fondly called ‘Wombat’ by his parents when he was a kid. Wombat is a cute animal that is native to Australia.

Wombat

Wombats are large, nocturnal, herbivorous, burrowing marsupials that are native to the continent of Australia.

Both male and female wombats are solidly built with squat, round, bear like bodies with a large strong skull and a short stumpy tail. They have small eyes and ears, but a large nose which, depending upon the type of wombat species, may be hairless or covered in hair. (The nose of the common wombat does not have hair).

Wombats have short legs, large paws with five toes ending in strong blade-like claws.

The hind paws of the wombat contain four claws with the fifth toe looking like a small clawless thumb.

So the path that we have traversed today is:

Magnus Carlsen—> Time 100 —> Prince William —> Wombat
