What is Qwikipedia?

Ever been on Wikipedia to look up an article? More often than not, we start with one topic, click a few links and within no time are reading about something else.

Qwikipedia is a game that tries to quench this curiosity in us. The objective is to get to a particular wiki page, starting from a specific article, using minimal clicks. There is no single correct answer, so we might surprise ourselves by finding new routes each time!

Oxford English Dictionary

The Oxford English Dictionary is one of the widely-used premier English dictionaries published by the Oxford University Press (OUP) in United Kingdom. The dictionary was an initiative taken by a group of people belonging to the Philological Society in London, who realized that the then available dictionaries had deficiencies in terms of several unlisted and undefined words. While work began on it in 1857, it was only in 1879 that the Oxford University Press agreed to publish it.

United Kingdom

The United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland includes the island of Great Britain and the north-eastern part of Ireland. In the early 20th century, it was the largest empire in history and is now a constitutional monarchy governed by a parliamentary system. United Kingdom holds the distinction of hosting the Olympic Games thrice – the recent being the 2012 London Games.

Olympic Games

The Olympic Games is a quadrennial international sports event in which several nations across the world participate. The modern Games draw their inspiration from the Ancient Games in Greece and hold separate editions for winter sports and summer sports. The last edition of the Winter Games was held in Vancouver in 2010.

Winter Olympics 2010

The Winter Olympic Games, 2010 in Vancouver, Canada was the second such event hosted by the North-American nation. The mascots for the games were designed from first nation creatures (aboriginal natives of Canada who are not Inuits – an indigenous group of Canada). One of them is the Quatchi – a sasquatch (or bigfoot) that wears boots and blue earmuffs.

A sasquatch or a bigfoot is an ape-like creature that is believed to inhabit forests in the Pacific Northwest region of North America.

Believed to look like a hairy humanoid, the existence of the sasquatch is often debated with scientists calling them a product of local folklore.
