We all know that education is a panacea for all evils and difficulties in the path of life. This has been emphasised from time immemorial, right from our ancient sages and saints down to our modern educationists and thinkers.

It is all the more important in these modern days of great advancements to achieve the avenues available for better living.

We have to prepare ourselves adequately for a successful and meaningful life. This preparation must be started by the most impressionable of us — youngsters. This is why the school life of youngsters is critically important.

Make the most of it

And so, whatever facilities, advice and coaching are available in the institutions must be taken maximum advantage of by the youngsters. Failing this, they may get disoriented and even get lost in their race for a better lifestyle.

Noble examples

The observance of these basic principles will lead us to not only prosperity but also to glory. Great achievers have showed us the path through their sincerity, hardwork and principles. “The lives of great men remind us we can make our lives sublime”.

In need of change

Changing pattern of parenting and teaching are what will change the world.

In this context, Gandhiji wrote to Maria Montessori in 1945 complimenting a system of education which respects the child.

He said, “You have very truly remarked that if we are to reach real peace in this world and if we are to carry on a real war against war, we shall have to begin with children.”

The responsibility of children

Children have the responsibility of fulfilling the expectations of their doting parents who sacrifice time, attention, wealth and even health. Children have no right or authority to abandon these expectations, even if they are unpleasant. Accountability, Integrity and responsibility are three essential mantras for every living being contributing to a nation’s stature.

If teachers and parents implement these in their daily lives and teach their children the value of these mantras, our nation would benefit greatly.
