The principals, coordinators and teachers of Presidency Group of Schools were felicitated for achieving excellent board results for 2011-12 at the Presidency Award Ceremony held at Royal Orchid Resort and Convention Centre.
K.S Nagesh, Principal, RV Dental College, inaugurated the programme. The award for ‘Presidency Principal of the Year’ was given to Indira Kothaneth, Principal, Presidency School, R.T. Nagar for achieving distinction in the board examination. She also received a rolling trophy, citation and cash prize.
The members of the staff, who completed 25 years of service, were given a special award.
Kendriya Vidyalaya, Hebbal, launched an e-learning facility for its students. It is one of the two schools in the KVs of Bangalore region to adopt this programme. AVM M.K. Malik, Chairman, Vidyalaya Committee Management, inaugurated the e-classrooms recently and said that it was aimed at making children the 21st century citizens. School principal Grace C.D. remarked that through e-learning, the visual impact on children was tremendous and it will make them understand lessons better.
Kendriya Vidyalaya, Malleswaram, celebrated Gandhi Jayanti by conducting various activities. Children spoke about the principles and qualities of the Mahatma. Children were also told to become familiar with the philosophies of Gandhi.
The school paid rich tributes to the two great leaders by presenting bhajans and also conducted a quiz.
Two students of SJCRV School, Melekote, Chickballapur, have brought laurels to the institution by bagging prizes at the taluk-level athletic meet held in Doddaballapur recently. Ajay Kumar bagged the prize in 400 m race and Harshitha in shotput.
Children of class 2 of MES Kishore Kendra Public School, Vidyaranayapura, presented a skit, highlighting the role of grandfather, grandmother, father, mother, sister and brother in a family. Through this, students understood the advantages of each member in a joint family.
