The Indiana Pacers received what’s becoming a familiar script for Paul George and a first from Lance Stephenson, to remain the NBA’s lone unbeaten team.

George exploded for 19 of his 23 points in the second half, and Stephenson recorded his first career triple-double as the Pacers stretched their franchise-best start to 8-0 with a 95-79 victory over the visiting Memphis Grizzlies on Monday night.

Stephenson finished with 13 points along with career-highs of 11 rebounds and 12 assists.

The Pacers became the 18th team in league history to open 8-0 and first since the New Orleans Hornets and LA Lakers in 2011. George became the third player in NBA history to record at least 20 points in each of his team’s first eight victories.

George Hill scored 13 points and Argentine Luis Scola had 12 points off the bench for the Pacers, who pulled away after intermission. After a four-point first half, George took charge and dropped in 13 points in the decisive 26-16 third quarter as the lead swelled to 72-55. George added six quick points at the start of the final frame that opened up an 80-55 cushion, and the Pacers cruised home.

Marc Gasol had a team-high 14 points for the Grizzies (3-4).DPA
