Miss Nelson is the kind of teacher any class would be blessed to have. She is funny, smart, sweet and loves her job. The students in room No. 207, on the other hand are any teacher's worst nightmare: they are disobedient and misbehave all the time. Poor Miss Nelson tries really hard to put up with them, but they take advantage of her. Then one day, the class is shocked. Miss Nelson has vanished. They get a new substitute teacher, Miss Viola Swamp. She is the meanest teacher they have ever encountered. Where has Miss Nelson gone? Will they ever get her back?

Miss Nelson is Missing!  was first published in 1977. It is the first in a series of three picture books.
