The objective to spread across the country awareness on mathematics education for excellence was underlined during the 47th annual conference of the Association of Mathematics Teachers of India (AMTI) held at Sri Prakash Synergy School recently.
Speaking on the occasion, retired scientist of Australian defence Bhaskaran Venkateshan, who was the chief guest, said that one should stick to the Indian roots while rising to the international standards in every stream. He said that more Indians were excelling in mathematics at the international level. He spoke about noted mathematician P.L. Bhatnagar and his contributions on aero dynamics and related areas of applied research.
General Secretary of AMTI M. Mahadevan read out the annual report. He thanked the educational institutions such as the Department of Science and Technology and HBCSE for extending their support in the recent years and appreciated the increased participation from Andhra Pradesh.
250 delegates participate
More than 250 delegates from various parts of the country such as Chennai, Nagpur, Bangalore, Warangal, Goa, Kerala and Delhi attended the programme.
Director of the school Ch. Vijay Prakash said influenced every aspect of the human race. The school also organised an exhibition on the occasion. — Staff Reporter
