Dwight Howard collected 24 points and 12 rebounds, Kobe Bryant scored 16, and the Los Angeles Lakers honoured the memory of their late owner, Jerry Buss, with an emotional 113-99 beat-down of long-time rival the Boston Celtics on Wednesday night. Steve Nash had 14 points and seven assists, while Earl Clark finished with 14 and a career-best 10 rebounds for the Lakers. Paul Pierce scored 26 points, Courtney Lee added 20 for the Celtics, who fell to 0-2 on their five-game road trip.

James Harden hit seven threes en route to a career-high 46 points, Jeremy Lin added 29 and the Houston Rockets rallied from 14 down in the final quarter for a 122-119 victory over the visiting Oklahoma City Thunder.
