After getting dominated defensively by the Indiana Pacers in the opener, the New York Knicks returned the favour.

Carmelo Anthony scored half of his 32 points in a 36-4 second half run and the Knicks pounded the visiting Pacers 105-79 on Tuesday to square their Eastern Conference semifinal playoff series at 1-1.

Iman Shumpert scored 15 points, Raymond Felton had 14 and Argentine Pablo Prigioni added 10 off the bench for the second-seeded Knicks, who bounced back from Sunday’s 102-95 game one loss. Trailing by three, the Knicks clamped down on their defence and went on a game-breaking 30-2 tear, bridging the third and fourth quarters for a commanding 92-66 lead behind Anthony.

After 14 straight misses, the Pacers finally ended the scoring drought with two free throws. But Quentin Richardson buried back-to-back three-pointers, pushing the cushion to 98-68 en route to the lopsided victory. Paul George scored 20 and David West added 13 for the third-seeded Pacers, who committed a whopping 21 turnovers, resulting in 32 points for their hosts in the blowout.
