Limited violence in Jammu and Kashmir this year, says report

The Jammu and Kashmir home department’s report for the year 2012 has brought some good news. In the year 2012, the state witnessed the lowest number of terror-related violence since militancy erupted 23 years ago.

The report, released Thursday, revealed that there were 118 terrorist-related incidents in the state in 2012, as against 195 in 2011. And the report also mentioned the toll that violence had taken in 2012: 95 people, including 23 civilians and 14 security forces personnel, were killed, besides 58 militants.IANS
