“Home and school go hand in hand”

‘Silent Night’ during candle service, ‘Joy to the World’ as carols, a Christmas tree and a Santa Claus formed part of the Christmas celebrations at Dr. Ambedkar Memorial School recently.

With skits and carols entertaining the guests, the celebration saw students of all classes coming together greeting, dancing and singing on the occasion.

Centre for Policy Studies Director A. Prasanna Kumar who was the chief guest, said that India was very fortunate to see so many young minds who could work towards development of the country.

He told the students that one’s home and school go hand in hand and that they were not two separate entities.

Guest of honour Fr. Joseph Pullikal said that life should be filled with love and respect and informed the students to love each other.

Correspondent of the school Y. Naoko Simhadri also spoke.

Vicennial celebrations at Little Scholar

Little Scholar School celebrated Smt. Jupally Balamma Memorial Youth Festival in memory of the mother of Dr. Rameswar Rao. J, Chairman of My Home Group of Companies & My Home Educational Society.

This is a vicennial celebration (every twenty years) to commemorate excellence in education of Little Scholar School. The programme was held on 14 December 2012 at the school premises.

The Chief Guest for the programme was Shri. Capt. N. Uttam Kumar Reddy, Minister for Housing Nischal Narayanam, double Guinness World Record holder for memory, Chairman Dr. Rameswar Rao and Secretary and Correspondent P. Purushotham Rao presided over the function.

The school organised inter–school competitions in a variety of cultural – literary and sports events - storytelling, floral rangoli, recitation, Gita chanting, painting, solo singing, declamation, maths quiz, poster making, listen & pen, pot decoration, elocution, flower arrangement, group dance & group singing.

Sports events included volley ball, skating, basket ball, table tennis, badminton & chess were organised.

“Spectrum” the vicennial edition of the school magazine, which is a comprehensive mirror of the events happening in the school, was released by Shri Capt. N. Uttam Kumar Reddy. Around 800 students from all over the city participated in the festival with enthusiasm and zeal.

Though the event had all competitions there were smiles on faces and happiness spread all over. The jubilant cheering groups of students encouraged the participants to give their best.

It was a memorable day for the students of our school with added friends, prizes won, and the pleasant time they spent exchanging views and opinions.

With thudding hearts all the participants gathered back for the valedictory function to know the results of the competitions.

Valedictory function was held at 4.30 pm. The chief guest for the evening was Mr. Anup Kumar Yama, gold medalist in World Roller Skating championship, First Indian to win a medal in world skating championship.

He encouraged the students to have a time – management plan which also accommodates games and sports along with academics. He highlighted the values that get imbibed in the lives of sportsman.

The rolling shield for best participation in all the competitions, and the best in sports events was handed over to the winning schools.
