The Bruhat Bangalore Mahanagara Palike is mulling over a proposal to not renew trade licences of those who fail to segregate the waste they generate at their units, BBMP Special Commissioner K.R. Niranjan said at a panel discussion here on Monday.
The BBMP had directed the traders and businessmen to put in place solid waste management systems in situ , besides ensuring that only inerts are disposed of.
“From March, the traders will have to compulsorily segregate the waste, store them in separate bins and manage them the same in house. Unless they follow this, their trade licences will not be renewed,” he said.
