Panchanga sravanam, Ugadi pravachanam and a host of cultural programmes were rolled out by Alwardas Group of Educational Institutions in association with the twelve sectors’ of MVP Colony Welfare Association as part of Ugadi Sambaralu .

The traditional festival that befalls on April 11 has a string of entertaining programmes to offer for the Telugu people at Alwardas Stadium. Speaking at the poster launch function at IIAM campus here on Monday, secretary of Alwardas Group of Educational Institutions S.P. Ravindra and president of the twelve sectors’ of MVP Colony Welfare Association Nanduri Ramakrishna said it was the second consecutive year that the team has come up with the concept. “Folk dances, tappetagullu , janapada geyalu , Annamayya kirtanalu and many more would be part of the festival celebrations that commences on Ugadi from 3 p.m. to 9 p.m. Stalls with a spread of traditional delicacies would also find a place at the venue,” they explained.

With the positive response received last year and with an intention to keep the Telugu tradition and customs alive, this year, the team has also come up with rangavalli competitions.
