Shantiniketan Vidyalaya celebrated its annual day on a grand scale. The chief guest for the occasion was Prof. Faizan Mustafa, Vice-Chancellor of NALSAR University of Law, Hyderabad.
The chief guest emphasised the need of quality education, especially the primary education of India. He also encouraged the students to pursue their higher studies according to their interest and aptitude.
Prof. Mustafa also stressed on the importance of education in removing the gender disparities existing in India.
The executive director Siddharth and principal Prem Shanker Dubey spoke about the achievements of the school in academic and co-scholastic areas.
The centre of attraction was the entertainment by the students.
It all began with a classical welcome dance, a fitting tribute and homage to Lord Ganesh. There were about 14 dances from juniors and seniors, a mixture of Indian classical and western hip-hop.
Two plays were staged. The English play ‘The Bishops Candlestick’ highlighted that kindness and sympathy can turn a hard hearted cold-blooded criminal into a good human being.
The Hindi play dwelt on the theme of good being victorious over evil. There was great appreciation and praise from the parents and well wishers.
