The tiny tots of Presidency School, R.T. Nagar, celebrated Grandparents’ Day with great fanfare. The day was made memorable for the grandparents too. The variety programme presented by children included invocation, dances, skits, songs and speeches. The little ones also presented special gifts to their grandparents. Games such as musical chair, ‘bombing the station’ and ‘best out of waste’ were conducted. Grandparents took part in the events with great enthusiasm and the winners were given prizes.
Sri Jnanakshi Vidyaniketan, Rajarajeshwarinagar, conducted its annual sports meet recently. R.L.M. Patil, member, Karnataka State Higher Education Council, hoisted the school flag and declared the sports meet open. This was followed by a march-past by the school houses, the NCC wing, and Scouts and Guides.
School captains, Srikesh and Kavya Kamath, took the oath to uphold the spirit of sportsmanship on behalf of all participants.
The chief guest spoke about participating with the right spirit and the benefits of sports.
Track events were interspersed with drill displays. A drill presented by the tiny tots sent out the message of environment conservation.
They also participated in events such as ‘bursting the balloons’ and ‘dressing the partner’.
A Dasara event, called ‘Navarasa in Ramayana’, was held at Sri Vani Education Centre, Magadi Road. The dance-drama presented by students depicted shringar, hasya, raudra, bhibhatsa, bhayanaka, veera, adbhuta, karuna and shanta — the navarasas in the epic, Ramayana. A doll display was also part of the celebration.
