36 participants over the age of 50 at the yoga festival

Several participants took part in the 19{+t}{+h}International Yoga Festival that ended on Monday. The four-day extravaganza featured participants from around the world who performed yogasanas and attended lectures and discourses on the topic.

One of the major features of the festival was the yoga competition, where participants were divided into 15 categories – seven for women and eight categories for men.

The winners in the various categories competed with each other to win the title of the ‘Yoga Champion’.

This year, over 36 participants were over the age of 50, with a few participants being in their 70s and 80s, one of the organisers said.

The main topics discussed at the workshop included yoga for women, yoga for cardiovascular diseases, diabetes, stress management and yoga and daily life.

Speakers from 13 different countries from around the world gave lectures and conducted lecture demonstrations. The yoga festival was organised by the Department of Tourism.
