Every year, at Shivani playschool, the children and the staff work around a particular theme. This year, it was “People of India and the World”. The children and the teachers enthusiastically prepared colourful models, made dolls and dressed them up in traditional costumes.
The idea is to give kids a glimpse of the world they live in.
So, the walls and every available space were filled with drawings of people from around the world, where they lived, what they wore and the traditions they followed.
Red Indians stood outside their Wigwam, while the Todas stood resplendent in their traditional gear.
Cowboys with their lassos, the Japanese with their kimonos, the Gujaratis with their ghaghra cholis made a colourful display.
