Danish royal couple — Crown Prince Frederik and Princess Mary — were on a week-long trip to Australia, their first official government visit Down Under since 2005. In Sydney, the couple attended a green energy conference and participated in a Danish cooking demonstration. Later in Canberra, the royals laid a wreath at the Australian War Memorial and attended a lunch hosted by Prime Minister Julia Gillard. In Melbourne, the princess received an “overwhelming” welcome from little girls dressed as princesses at the Pakenham Springs Primary School where she attended the opening of an eco-friendly building.
