Two students of the Mysore Kirloskar Education Trust’s PU College, Harihar Surya. V. and Devrath. N. D., have brought laurels to the institution by winning the zonal level Rural IT Quiz. Three preliminary rounds preceded the final round.

Over 400 students from five districts participated in the zonal level competition and six teams qualified for the final round.

The competition was organised by the Tata Consultancy Services and the Department of IT and BT. It aimed to spread awareness of information technology in the rural areas of Karnataka, and was a huge success.

Surya and Devrath received a cash prize of Rs. 8,000 each from the Davanagere District Assistant Commissioner C. G. Betasoormath and the Deputy Director of Public Instruction Chandrashekar.

They qualified to participate in the state level competition.
