Prateek Jain and Anubhav Gupta of Std. XII, Modern School, Barakhamba Road, won the first prize in the senior category of DuPont India Challenge, a nation-wide science paper contest for school students in India, 2005. The students received Certificates of Achievement and a cash award of Rs.12000 from V.S. Ramamurthy, Secretary, Department of Science and Technology, Government of India, for their science paper titled "Why junk is not junk". The second prize was bagged by Mehak Jindal and Misha Chittoda of Std. XII, Amity International School, Noida. They took home certificates and cash award of Rs.9000 for their paper titled "DNA Vaccine - A Boon to Medical Science".
