There was something for everyone to do on this memorable day at Global Public School. The first sports day of Global Public School, Chottanikkara, was inaugurated by Subhash Shenoy, national basketball player from Kerala. The events went on with clockwork precision - from cheerleaders to aerobic displays and yoga and different thematic races based on festivals from around the world. Grade I students celebrated Valentine's Day by linking the cut-outs of each heart with their partner's heart. Grade IIs swished away in their brooms to mark Halloween's Day, while Grade IIIs sprinted to hug their partners and wish Eid Mubarak. Grade IVs donned their jester's caps and raced to rope in their partners, as a reminder of April Fish Day that is celebrated in France. The Grade Vs looked remarkably demure in their aprons and cooks' caps, but ran with gusto, tossing pancakes in the air. This is a tradition among Russians during the pancake festival. Those from Grade VI resembled young Santas as they celebrated the Tana Batta festival of Japan, where branches are decorated with works of origami. The discipline and camaraderie of the students stood out.
