The travails of having vendors at your door.
Rain or shine, not a day passes without the street vendors taking the joy out of peace-loving members of the public. They indulge in all sorts of methods to make people buy their sub-standard goods. They ring doorbells and when the door is not opened, they shout at the people and call them filthy misers. Besides, many a street vendor has turned out to be a thief in disguise, ready to pilfer at the first available opportunity. What should we do to save ourselves from this nuisance? Can we form vigilance squads? Will it help if volunteers keep a watch? Can we alert the concerned authorities like Indian Standards Institute, Corporation Health Department, the Police Department and so on, when they find vendors selling sub-standard and/or unhygienic foodstuff .
