The children at Daksha had a Raju Chacha's Farm Day at School in the rustic and charming ambience of a village created in their own school surrounded by animals, artefacts and teachers and the staff dressed up as villagers. The Children's Day at school had Raju chacha visit with his farm animals . He brought with him the entire village: the potter, the village craftswoman, fresh fruits and vegetables, music and the gaiety of village festivals and also a small patch of a paddy field. Drawing water from the village well, making pots at the potter's wheel, feeding the farm animals, playing with the toys made from coconut leaves, watching the paddy saplings in the mini-paddy fields , enjoying the food from the farm and watching the farm animal puppets tell a story was an experience to remember. They learnt about fruits, vegetables, farm produce, recycling in the villages , rural skills and how villages are the base and source of things we use in our day-to-day lives.
