Chennai leads realty price slide
The makaan.com Property Index survey confirms that property prices have started stabilising or are on a downward trend in key property markets. The figures for Oct-Dec 2013 point to a nation-wide decrease of 2.7%, according to a company press release. Chennai, Ahmedabad and Mumbai show the maximum decrease, at 12.6%, 7.8% and 5%, respectively. Bangalore and Pune prices have dropped by 5.6% and 4.6%, respectively. The drop in Chennai has broken all records, says the report, adding that while all three months have shown a decrease, the major shift has taken place from November 2013 to December 2013, with figures falling from Rs 1563 to Rs 1460.
