Missile silo to posh home
A Cold War missile storage facility has been converted into a luxury property. It is now up for sale for a hefty $3 million dollars. The property near Lake Placid in New York is now a two-level residence, with three bedrooms and an open living-room-cum-kitchen. The Silohome was developed by Bruce James Franscio and partner Gibbons. It has a runway and hangar for a private jet, and looks normal from the surface. But, when you enter a code, it descends into a former launch control centre for missiles.
