SCHWING Stetter India, dealer in concrete construction equipment, has announced the launch of NIMO, a mini concrete mixer. The three cubic meter mixer was unveiled by Anand Sundaresan, Managing Director, and V.G. Sakthikumar, Chief Operating Officer, at the press conference in the city.
NIMO can be taken across to construction sites during the day (6500 mm in length x 2400 mm in width x 3100 mm in height), unlike larger mixers which cannot ply within the city during working hours, due to legal restrictions, and where it is not economically viable. Its light weight enables its manoeuvrability through narrow lanes and over softer terrain. The Indian construction industry has been on a high growth path for more than a decade, led by buoyancy in sectors such as real estate and infrastructure. It brings with it problems of traffic congestion, narrow by-lanes, increase in high rise buildings and the need for speedy delivery of concrete.
Anand Sundaresan says, “It is promising to see India emerging as a major manufacturing hub for the construction equipment industry. This industry in India is expected to grow to a size of $ 6.5 billion by the year 2014 as reported by the Confederation of Indian Industry.”
“NIMO will bring about a revolution in the construction landscape with its small size, as it will help negotiate traffic during the day and noise pollution during the night, and will accelerate the execution and delivery of time-bound projects,” V.G. Sakthikumar said.
SCHWING Stetter is all set to launch a wide range of new products in ready-mix concrete technology: concrete mixing equipment, truck mixers, concrete pumps as well as boom pumps, at EXCON 2011, Bangalore.
Incorporated in June 1998, and commencing its manufacturing operations in 1999, SCHWING Stetter India manufactures concrete batching plants, transit mixers for transporting readymade concrete to construction sites, pumps and concrete placing booms and recycling plants.
