Cinema Director Dasaradh exudes confidence about ‘Greeku Veerudu’
Dasaradh seems confident of being back in the reckoning, with his return to clean romantic entertainers. His faith in feel-good stories having been vindicated by the positive response to Mr Perfect , the director knows he has raised audience expectations. Only, this Friday, the stakes go higher as he pairs up with Nagarjuna once again for Greeku Veerudu , more than a decade after the blockbuster Santosham , his debut directorial venture.
There’s already a lot of buzz around the movie thanks to Nag’s stylish new look, his pairing with Nayanatara and the host of comedians among the cast. “The title is completely suited to Nagarjuna’s image as ‘Greeku Veeerudu’; it denotes both handsome looks and action. Also the stylish image suits the NRI character that Nag plays,” Dasaradh explains. He and producer D. Siva Prasad Reddy are leaving no stone unturned to ensure a BO hit. "Audience will be entertained throughout the film; Bramhanandam's presence is quite prominent,” says the director, adding he is confident of Thaman's peppy music too. Veteran director/actor K.Vishwanath who played a prominent role in Santosham reappears here in a special role. Another similarity this movie shares with Santosham is the focus on relationships.
Nag plays an NRI with shades of grey. “He doesn’t believe in love or relationships, then something happens when he comes to India. The film is a wholesome entertainer that the entire family can enjoy. I like dealing with relationships and this film has the tagline ‘Never give up in relationship’ Greeku Veerudu theme is about relationships in general. Earlier when people had a problem with someone or didn’t like something, they would fight. These days they don’t fight, they just turn a cold shoulder; they may be polite but their smiles don’t reach the heart. They don’t even want to sort out the problem.”, he reveals.
Actors Meera Chopra and Dr. Bharat Reddy have special roles in the movie; “Bharat Reddy is Nag’s best buddy in the film,” says Dasaradh.
The film will be dubbed in Tamil for a simultaneous release on May 3.
