Weight training and bone growth

Can exercises help people increase their height? And a related question, will weight training stop bone growth?

There are some who say yes, but scientists disagree. Height is genetically pre-determined and nothing can be done to alter it. However, if a person’s genetically determined height growth has stopped owing to some reason or the other, proper exercise, diet and supplements and an endocrinologist’s intervention can restart it. But, that will work only for people in their teens.

Bone growth stops beyond that age. No drugs or magic exercises can make the bones grow. At best, exercise can correct your posture and make it appear as if you have gained height. Researchers also say that proper weight training will not lead to stunted growth.
