Car and bike questions? We have the answers
With the launch of compact SUVs, it’s difficult to go for a saloon in the same price bracket. I am looking to upgrade my Chevrolet Beat diesel. I use it daily for my commute to the office in the city and also for long weekend drives. Please suggest whether to go for a saloon or a mini SUV. My priorities include ride quality and passenger comfort. If I choose a compact SUV, should I wait for the Ford Ecosport?
We can understand your desire to have a compact SUV. Models such as the Ecosport are very appealing and well-priced too. But if you don’t travel on bad roads, you could opt for a saloon. By design, saloons ride better than SUVs and have a plusher back seat too. You could look at a VW Vento or Skoda Rapid which are comfortable cars with good legroom and ride comfort.
I want to buy a new bike but am confused between the Honda CBR250R and KTM 200 Duke. I am keen on the 200 Duke due to its styling, and want a street bike which is easier to ride through traffic. Will the 200 Duke offer the same in terms of reliability as a Yamaha bike, or shall I wait for any other new bike coming in 2013?
You could wait for KTM to launch their upcoming new 390 Duke, which will be more or less similar to the current 200 Duke, but with a 375cc engine and offering much quicker performance. This new bike is expected to be launched by mid-2013. If you don't want to wait, please go ahead and pick up the 200 Duke as this is the best sporty streetbike in India today.
I own a Bajaj Pulsar 220DTS-fi and would like to increase its power and torque. I would like my bike to cross 120kph with ease. What can I do to achieve a higher top-speed?
While there are a few modifications you could do to achieve slightly more power and a higher top-speed from your bike, such as changing its sprockets, modifying the air filter and more. We strongly suggest you refrain from these, as most modifications can cause dangerous side effects and impact the bike’s reliability.
